PLAN 1
Ledesma offers various ways to enjoy its nature. Among them are the signposted paths that surround it, such as the one we are presenting here: the Puente Mocho route.
This is an invitation to take in the natural environment in a different, slow way, taking a break from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The short walk that leads to the Puente Mocho bridge will fill you with its peacefulness and you’ll feel away from the rest of the world, in a place where nothing interrupts the close contact with the various species that have made it their home. You’ll hear birdsong, the whistle of the wind among the holm oaks, the water flowing under the bridge…
This can take most of your morning or afternoon, so we recommend that you return to the village to restore your strength before you go on your way, or maybe before you start the walk. The great thing is that you can sample its great food in any of the several restaurants you can find in Ledesma.
PLAN 2
The best way to understand the relevance of Ledesma’s historic past is to start your visit at the History Interpretation Centre, BLETISA. Located in the church of San Miguel, this is a space devoted to history and heritage, where the visitor can delve into the town’s enigmas, get to know its every nook and cranny, understand the past and sample its present.
This visit will take about an hour and it will entice you to see Ledesma in no hurry, calmly wandering through its narrow streets, discovering its hidden corners and the subtle details on its façades, coats of arms, grilles, carved lintels… To make this easier, we have devised a circular urban route which will take you to the most relevant points of the old town, signposted by means of discreet signs on streets and buildings, with the purpose of guiding the visitor through the lattice of narrow alleys and of telling or discovering little stories that reveal the past of its people.
All this can take most of your morning or afternoon, so we recommend that you restore your strength before doing the route, or maybe after it, by sampling its great food in any of the several restaurants you can find in Ledesma.
